Swimming Lessons
Registration Private lesson Group lessons Prices and Refunds
During the Fall and Spring Rancho offers swim lessons in its outdoor pool.
The lessons are free form and not in sessions like in the summer. You pick days and times
that we have open to sign up in. All the lessons are private lessons. We have no group
lessons in that time. Spring and Fall lessons are for ages 5 years and older . If your
child is under 5 they may take summer lessons. Lessons are performed in all types of weather except dangerous weather. (Call for more information.)
In the summer months of June, July and August we schedule both private and
group lessons by sessions. A session is Monday through Thursday, so that each session is 8
lessons at the same time. We normally restrict sessions to 2- 3 sessions a summer unless we
have more room.

Registration:
We begin to take registration for summer lessons on May 17th 2008 at 10am. After that if
you would like to register for a session you can come during our office hours. If you can not make it
during those times you need to call and make an appointment. Payment is required to reserve the time
spot. We accept cash or personal check.
Private lesson Information:
All our private lessons are one teacher and one student. The amount of spaces we have at
a certain time depends on how many teachers we have teaching at that time. All our instructors are
friendly and help your child at the ability level they are at. The lessons are 25 minutes in the water
with a few minutes after the lesson to talk to the instructor about the lesson. In the summer sessions
we teach children ages 3 and up. When you sign up with us for a session and pay, you are given a time slot.
We try to offer everyone the same teacher for the whole session and summer but this is not always
possible. You may always make requests for a specific teacher and we do our best to honor those requests. During the private lessons you may request that your child learn any type of lesson. The teacher will do their best to move the student towards that goal. Some things that the teachers are trained to teach are Introduction to the water, Crawl stroke (aka freestyle), backstroke, breastroke, butterfly, sidestroke, diving, treading water, safety instruction, etc ...
Group lesson information:
All our group lessons are 35 minutes in the water. The times of the group lessons vary by the ability
level of your child. The ratio of the lessons is 3-5 children per teacher. This summer group lessons are
offered sessions 1- 2 only. The first day of each group session the children in a group are tested to
see if they meet the level of the class they are enrolled in. If they are higher or lower they can be
moved if there is room or their lesson will have to be canceled. If you would like your child to be
tested before the first day of class you can make arrangements with the office for testing to see what
level they are at.
Beginner group lesson:
To be in this group lesson a child must be able to follow directions and get into
the water unassisted. Water adjustment and introduction to the water are taught in this class.
They will learn to put their face in the water, blow bubbles, how to float and how to kick. Once
those skills are mastered they may move to the next level.
Beginning strokes lesson:
To be in this group a child have passed the beginner level. They must be
able to float on the front and back, kick on a kick board with no support and blow bubbles
with their face in the water. In the class the children will work up to being able to do the
basic stroke of crawlstroke (freestyle.) Work will be done on gliding, arm stroke and side
breathing along with other things.
Intermediate strokes class:
To be in this group lesson, a child must be able to swim crawl stroke all the
way across a length of the pool. In this class, the intermediate strokes will be worked
on, backstroke and breastoke. Some diving will also be worked on if there is time. Butterfly
